Travel Agency Consulting and Advisor Team Training

Where New Advisors Actually Get Stuck

Most agency owners bring me in for the same reason.

They've hired advisors who care, who work hard, who genuinely want to be good at this. And yet the ramp-up is slow. Enquiries come in and don't convert. Nobody is quite sure what to charge, or whether to charge at all. Results vary wildly from one person to the next, and there's no obvious reason why.

Underneath almost all of it is confidence, and confidence comes from two things.

The first is product knowledge. A new advisor who doesn't yet know the difference between one cruise line and another, or which properties genuinely suit which clients, will hesitate. They'll hedge. They'll present options rather than make recommendations, and clients feel that uncertainty immediately.

The second is business skill, and it's the part nobody teaches when someone joins this industry. How to qualify a client before investing unpaid hours. How to run a consultation that actually surfaces what someone wants. How to price and close without apologising. How to build a client base rather than waiting for one to appear.

Advisors who have both stop hedging. They make recommendations, they charge properly, and they convert. That's the work I do with agency teams.

Why Work With Me

I've been a travel advisor since 2016 and have worked in travel and hospitality my entire career. I've been named one of Condé Nast Traveler's Top Travel Specialists for six consecutive years, from 2021 through 2026, and I'm a Virtuoso member advisor.

Before building my own advisory business, I led teams. I served as Assistant Team Leader and then Team Leader and Store Manager at a previous agency, where I mentored advisors through exactly the challenges your team is facing now.

That combination matters. I'm not a business coach who read about the travel industry. I'm a practising luxury travel advisor who has built a business, led a team, and knows precisely where new advisors get stuck, because I've watched it happen and I've been there myself.

What We Work On Together

Every engagement is scoped around what your agency actually needs. In practice, most work falls into these areas.

The Sales Process

This is where most agencies see the fastest return. We work through the full client journey: how to qualify enquiries before investing unpaid hours, how to run a consultation that surfaces what a client genuinely wants, how to present a proposal with confidence, and how to close without discounting.

I teach a structured qualification approach that filters out poor-fit enquiries early and gives advisors far more useful information before they ever get on a call. For most teams, this single change transforms both conversion rates and the hours lost to enquiries that were never going to book.

Pricing, Fees and Profitability

Undercharging is close to universal among newer advisors, and it quietly limits what your agency can earn. We cover service fees, how to communicate them without apology, commission structures, and how to recognise which bookings are genuinely worth an advisor's time.

Building a Client Base

Waiting for enquiries is not a strategy. We work on how advisors find and attract their own clients, including positioning, niching, referral generation, and how to build relationships that produce repeat business rather than one-off transactions.

Niching and Positioning

Clarity is the single quality that separates thriving advisors from struggling ones. Advisors who try to serve everyone serve no one especially well. We work on helping each advisor find the niche that fits both their strengths and your agency's market.

Social Media and Marketing

Most advisors know they should be visible online. Far fewer know what to post, who they're speaking to, or how to turn attention into enquiries. We cover content strategy, brand positioning, and building a sustainable rhythm that doesn't consume the working week.

Supplier Relationships and Product Knowledge

How to build genuine relationships with suppliers, use them well, and turn preferred partnerships into real value for clients rather than a logo on a website.

How Engagements Work

Every agency is different, so every engagement is scoped individually. Common formats include:

New advisor onboarding programmes. Structured training for advisors joining your agency, designed to shorten the ramp-up period and get them producing sooner.

Team training workshops. Focused sessions for your existing team on a specific area, whether that's the sales process, pricing, or marketing.

Ongoing consulting for agency owners. Working directly with you on team development, systems, and growth, rather than delivering training to advisors.

Speaking at agency events and conferences. Sessions for your team meetings, annual conferences, or industry events.

Work can be delivered remotely by video or in person, depending on your team, your location, and what the engagement calls for.

I take on a small number of agency engagements each quarter so that every client gets proper attention. If we're a fit, you'll have my genuine focus.

Who This Is For

This work suits agencies of any size, from a small team of two or three advisors to larger agencies and host agencies developing dozens of people.

It's a particularly good fit if you're bringing new advisors into the business and want them productive sooner, if your team's results are inconsistent and you're not sure why, if you know your advisors are undercharging, or if you're stretched too thin to train people properly yourself.

It's less likely to be a fit if you're looking for someone to sell on your behalf, or for a one-hour motivational session with no follow-through. Real change takes structure and time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does travel agency consulting and training cost?

Every engagement is scoped and quoted individually, because a workshop for a team of three and an ongoing onboarding programme for a team of thirty are very different pieces of work. Pricing depends on the format, the number of advisors involved, and whether the work is delivered remotely or in person. The best way to get an accurate figure is to book a discovery call, tell me what you're trying to achieve, and I'll follow up with a proposal.

What happens on a discovery call?

It's a straightforward conversation, usually around thirty minutes. We'll talk about your agency, where your advisors are getting stuck, and what you'd want to be different in six months. From there I'll tell you honestly whether I think I can help, and if so, what an engagement would look like. There's no obligation to proceed.

Do you work with agencies remotely or in person?

Both. Remote delivery works well for ongoing programmes and smaller teams, while in-person sessions often suit workshops, team days, and conferences. We'll decide together what makes sense for your agency.

What size of agency do you work with?

Any size. I've worked with individual advisors through to teams, and engagements are scoped accordingly. What matters more than headcount is whether your team is genuinely ready to do the work.

How long does an engagement usually last?

It varies. A focused team workshop might be a single day. An onboarding programme or ongoing consulting relationship typically runs over several weeks or months, because building real skill takes repetition rather than a single session.

Can you train advisors who are brand new to the industry?

Yes, and this is often where the strongest results come from. New advisors haven't yet developed habits that need unlearning, and giving them a proper foundation from the start dramatically shortens how long it takes for them to become productive.

Do you offer training on specific destinations or products?

No. My work focuses on the business and sales skills advisors need, rather than destination or product training, which is usually better delivered by your suppliers and partners.

Book a Discovery Call

If your advisors are working hard without the results to match, there's usually a fixable reason.

The best place to start is a conversation. Book a complimentary discovery call and we'll talk through where your team is now, what's getting in the way, and whether this work is the right fit. If it is, I'll follow up with a proposal scoped to your agency. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too.

There's no obligation and no pressure. Just a straightforward conversation about your team.

For agency owners, managers, and team leaders.
